ABOUT YESIncorporated as a statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit, The Youth Education for Saving Consortium promotes financial education among children and their families in disadvantaged and underrepresented communities to create the assets needed for educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, community stabilization and development, and community stewardship.
Collaborating with schools and other organizations allow YES to reach children from marginalized communities. Through project-based programs, YES provides weekly financial serieses in classrooms engaging students in lessons focusing on its platform of 5 pillars: EARN, SAVE, SPEND, INVEST, DONATE. . With programs focusing on financial basics, entrepreneurship, investing, and philanthropy, YES engages youth at an early age so they may gain an understanding of personal wealth generation that is applicable to real life. |

To address the problem of socio-economic disparities within low-income, disadvantaged and underserved North Carolina communities, specifically focusing on the lack of financial literacy among youth.
YES Consortium’s core principles to facilitate and create: 1) educational and entrepreneurial opportunities, 2) personal financial wellness, 3) community outreach and 4) charitable giving within the community. These principles are conduits to YES’s vision for a balanced and equitable socio-economic wellness among youth and their families from underserved communities creating opportunities for educational achievement, sustainable job creation, community prosperity, and healthy lifestyles resulting in generational wealth.
